Youth

Juneteenth Parade
All Ages. This Annual Parade celebrates the history of the abolition of slavery in Texas. The parade will start at 10 a.m. Saturday June 19, at City Hall Plaza, 319 College St. and will end at Tyre Park where the Juneteenth festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Summer Camp Mania-Dalworth
Ages 6-12. This 11 week summer long daily program consists
of games, field trips, swimming and arts/craft activities all summer long. Campers receive two snacks per day and also take in field trips to different destinations each week. Camp Pre-Registration is $20 – this includes holding your child's spot in camp for entire summer and camp T-shirt. Payments for camp are due on the Friday proceeding the upcoming week. All parents must attend a mandatory Parent Orientation setup by each center. Call the Dalworth Recreation Center at (972) 264-7670 for details. Fee: $80/week per child

Back To School Carnival- Dalworth
All Ages. Are you ready for some fun? If so, we’re bringing the community together to enjoy foods, games, face painting, bounce houses, entertainment, and more. Free school supplies will be given out as well. For more info, call the Dalworth Recreation Center at 972-264-7670.

“Just Say No” Teen Power Club-Dalworth
Ages 13-17. Teens will be the positive inspiration for change in our community through community service, positive activities, sports, and trips. Teen Council meets twice monthly. This club is designed to teach leadership, character, and drug abuse prevention. The club members and volunteers participate in many positive activities. The membership is continuing to grow. Join us, become a leader, and make your pledge to lead a positive life. Foods, movies, and games are a part of every meeting. Volunteers are welcome.

“Say Cheese” Kids in the Kitchen-Dalworth
Ages 8-17 'Say Cheese' This four week course will explore the wonderful world of cooking with cheese. Week One-Mac & Cheese, Week Two-Grilled Cheese, Week Three-Cheese Eggs, and finally Week Four-Cheese Nachos!.
Fee: $10/4 weeks

Youth Co-Ed Basketball League-Dalworth
Ages 6-12. We provide quality instruction from volunteer coaches. This league will help establish a good foundation for basketball and allow kids an outlet to remain physically and socially involved in a positive atmosphere. Players will have one scheduled night of practice with their teams each week. All players will receive jersey and award when league is completed. Fees: $65/player

Juneteenth Celebration Festival - Tyre Park
All ages. This annual event will be a two day celebration of the history of the abolition of slavery in Texas. The Dalworth Community continues to be a proud host of this traditional event. Friday June 18 will include live music and a fish fry at Tyre Park from 7pm-12am. On Saturday June 19, from 9am-5pm, at Tyre Park the celebration continues with a free barbeque, live music, dance contest, arts and crafts vendors, swimming, and much more!

Coaches Needed!
Interested in coaching a sports league with the City of Grand Prairie? Dalworth Recreation Center is looking for coaches who can help in basketball and flag football leagues. If you are interested, please contact us at 972-264-7670. Background check and drug test will be required before coaching.

Weight Room – Dalworth
Age: 17+. Come check out the perfect work out setting at the Dalworth Weight Room. There are two treadmills, one elliptical machine, and one exercise bike, and flat screen televisions inside of the weight room. Weight Room Membership is $7 per month, $35 for six months or $60 per year.

Ages 18+. Getting thin in 2010! This free four week class will meet twice a week and the Dalworth Staff will teach you how to use the work out equipment in our NEW exercise room. Fee: Free with Center Membership

Basketball Wednesday Night Pick Up Games-Dalworth
Ages18+. It’s show time on Wednesday night at the Dalworth Recreation Center. Come play with some of the best competition in the city. Bring you’re A-game and come for some fun. Fee: Membership Requred or $2 person

Carter Oliver Senior Club-Dalworth
Age 50+ Join this jolly group for a fun afternoon of entertainment. There are special birthday parties and arts and crafts. The Carter-Oliver Seniors have adopted nursing homes in the city. This club meets on the 2nd Tuesday and 4th Friday of each month for good food, entertainment and to socialize.

1st Friday Tea Room Trips - Dalworth
Join us on the 1st Friday of every month to go to lunch at a different tearoom in DFW. Transportation provided. Each person pays for his or her meal ($10-$15). Sign up by the 27th of each month for the next trip. Membership Required. Fee: varies.
