Lone Star Trail Grand Opening

The second trail opening will happen this spring. The date will be announced soon. Help us celebrate the completion of Grand Prairie’s section of the Lone Star Trail. This trail starts by the Grand Prairie Tourist Information Center goes south along Belt Line Road, turns east along the Trinity River, then turns back north to connect with the city of Irving.

National Parks and Recreation Month!
Parks and Recreation is all about fun, and the month of July is no different. To celebrate we have events, activities and specials going on EVERY DAY during July. Friday, July 4
Fireworks at Lynn Creek Park • 9:45 pm • 5700 Lake Ridge Parkway
On July 4th, experience an exciting fireworks display over Joe Pool Lake in Lynn Creek Park. The entry fee is $15 per vehicle with up to six passengers ($2 each for additional passengers). Most visitors pack a picnic and stake out a spot early since the park fills quickly for the 9:45 p.m. fireworks. Call 817-467-2104 for more information.


Friday, July 7
Uptown Movie Night at the Lake • 8 pm • Lynn Creek Park • 5700 Lake Ridge Parkway
Come to Lynn Creek Park on July 7th and watch the infamous JAWS movie on our big outdoor movie screen! Get there early because the movie starts at 8 pm! Bring a blanket or chair and something to snack on.

Grand Prairie residents get free admission to the park with a valid driver's license. Non-residents are $10 per car. Once in the park follow the signs to the movie.

Guitars & BBQ at Prairie Lakes • 7:30 pm • 3202 SE 14th St.
Friday nights July 11- Aug. 1, enjoy live music beginning at 7:30pm at the Prairie Lakes Pavilion. Different bands are featured every Friday from Texas music and song writers to the familiar sounds of good ole classic rock!

The music is FREE and Eddlemons BBQ will be available for purchase. Come hungry and ready to rock!
